Many of you have heard that there was a very sad medical emergency at the theater on Saturday night and the show was stopped half way through. We held a party featuring Les Twins and invited all the patrons who bought tickets to the theater performance (and happily many people were able to attend and it was fantastic). The box office, which is a separate entity from City Dance, is telling us that City Dance must refund everyone who bought tickets to the show. We understand this of course because we weren't allowed to finish all the performances. The Box Office has also recommended that we email our patrons and offer a full refund (including all the handling fees that we will now have to pay them), but they also recommended that we ask people if they would like to donate the ticket costs to City Dance. We don't feel comfortable accepting hand outs in general but with the costs of bringing all the special guests to San Francisco and paying them, as well as advertising and just all the costs involved in producing a show this large, we will be in a very difficult place financially due to this tragic occurrence. Many people have expressed an interest in donating their ticket prices and fees or even sending donations to the studio. For anyone similarly inclined please send checks to City Dance Studios, 32 Otis Street, San Francisco, 94103. Thank you to everyone for all the kind words and support.
